Insurance Information

Do I accept insurance?

Satriano Physiotherapy is categorized as an 'out-of-network' provider for all insurance companies, unless your condition is a result of a car accident or work-related injury.

At the time of service, payment is required from the patient. However, there is a high probability that you will receive full or partial reimbursement for your out-of-pocket expenses directly from your insurance carrier. To facilitate this reimbursement process, I will assist you by providing a claim form or a 'super-bill,' which you can then submit to your insurance company.

Before proceeding with treatment, I recommend reaching out to your insurance provider in advance to inquire about your out-of-network benefits for physical therapy. Understanding your coverage will help you plan accordingly and ensure a smoother reimbursement experience.

Why are we out-of-network?

My objective is to provide the best possible care for my patients, ensuring they receive the attention and treatment they truly need for a sustained recovery. I strongly believe that my patients require a full-length session to allow me to adequately listen to and treat them. Addressing both their needs is crucial for achieving true and lasting recovery.

I don't use an aide solely to add (billable) time to my patients' appointments with ice or stretching. Instead, at Satriano Physiotherapy, every appointment is one-to-one and lasts for a full 60 to 90 minutes. This approach allows me to focus entirely on my patient during the session.

Moreover, providing extended treatment sessions helps my patients by reducing the number of visits they need each week. Rather than asking them to come in three times a week for shorter sessions, I consolidate the treatment into a single, more efficient session. This means my patients spend less time commuting, waiting in waiting rooms, and dealing with multiple co-pays, all while experiencing better treatment outcomes.

What should I bring with me to my first visit?

Please bring completed intake forms, loose-fitting shorts, a tee shirt, a sports bra/tank top for our female patients.  It is sometimes helpful to bring a list of questions you may have been thinking about prior to your first visit.

What is the initial Evaluation like?

I start your initial evaluation by listening to you: I want to know about symptoms, medical history, and any other pertinent information that might help you get better. You'll be asked about your specific goals and your most troubling symptoms, so we can focus on the parts of treatment that will give you the most relief.

After we have an understanding of your condition and goals, we will tailor an evaluation/treatment to meet these needs.

The remainder of your initial visit will be spent in treatment, so we can start getting you better and learn how your body responds to physical therapy. We will create an individualized treatment plan to help you meet your goals.

How long until I am better?

It's difficult to give a specific answer to this question - it depends on how long you've had the condition, your medical management, how your body responds to physical therapy, how much time you're able to invest in exercises at home, and other factors.

We work with each patient individually, taking into account both your medical and personal situations, to come up with the optimal treatment plan for you.

How many visits of Physical therapy will I need?

I recommend coming either once or twice a week for the first 5 visits. That allows us see how your body responds to physical therapy and come up with an ongoing plan for your treatment.

I tell our patients that you should see a change in the first 3-5 visits or less. After those initial visits, we reassess your treatment plan to focus on what is helping you most to expedite your recovery. Once we begin to see improvements in your symptoms, your therapist(s) will work with you to develop a plan for appropriately tapering down the frequency of your sessions.

Can I do anything on my own to get better?

This is a major focus of my practice at Satriano Physiotherapy. There are always exercises and self-care practices that you can do yourself that will benefit your condition and help maintain your gains between visits. We will train you to do this on your own, speeding up your improvement and ensuring that you have a lasting, sustainable recovery.
